Join a family in the serene Krusne Hory mountains, at a historic house built in 1896. Once a German villa, it has served various purposes over the years, including a school and a guest house for soldiers and ministers.

Nestled at 900 meters above sea level, the home is surrounded by cross-country skiing trails and biking paths, making it a peaceful retreat. However, there’s no public transportation, so they offer pick-up from the nearest train station.

They are currently working on converting old containers into new stables and adding wooden roofs for a charming touch. The family welcomes volunteers to assist with woodworking projects alongside Anbu.

During the summer, they run children’s camps, caring for and entertaining 30 kids and teenagers aged 9 to 18. The tasks may vary, but they seek helpers who genuinely enjoy their work.

Accommodation

Volunteers will stay in the house, which has 10 rooms and 3 spacious halls.

They mainly cook vegetarian food, occasionally including meat once or twice a week. The cuisine is primarily Indian, but it’s not overly spicy.

You’ll have the opportunity to relax and connect with nature, free from mobile signals.

Their home is in the Krusne Hory mountains, at 900 meters above sea level, offering a tranquil environment.

The nearest public transportation stop is 7 km away, and they will pick you up from the nearby train station, Nove Hamry. The journey to the home is stunning, with beautiful scenery along the way.

Nove Hamry is a picturesque village perfect for outdoor enthusiasts. The area offers excellent hiking, biking, and skiing trails, making it an ideal destination year-round.

While there, indulge in hearty local Czech dishes. Pack layers to be prepared for varying weather conditions and enjoy the peace, as mobile signal can be limited.

More Information

The Krusne Hory mountains, also known as the Ore Mountains, stretch along the border between the Czech Republic and Germany. In the Czech Republic, they are located mainly in the northwestern part of the country.

This family is the only ones living there year-round, with an elderly couple staying in the summer about 300 meters away.

A pension and restaurant are located 600 meters from us, open from 10 am to 5 pm. We are just 2 km from Germany through a forest.

The farmstead includes alpacas and horses, adding to the charm of your stay. Enjoy the tranquility and beauty of their location while contributing to meaningful projects.
