Join a young couple in maintaining a beautiful guesthouse just 200 meters from the beach in a serene village near Lourinha, Portugal. They are a couple in their 30s with an adventurous cat named Joey.

They are looking for volunteers to help keep their home clean and organized for guests, as well as to help walk Joey, who enjoys his morning strolls on a leash.

If you’re tidy, responsible, and excited to stay in a cozy guesthouse, they would love to hear from you!

Tasks

Help is needed throughout the year at the coastal guesthouse. From January to April, maintenance tasks include cleaning, painting walls and metal rails, and repairing furniture.

In February and March, they need volunteers skilled in wall painting and home renovations. Artistic individuals are welcome to contribute to décor changes.

From April to October, the village is busy with tourists and surfers. During this time, we need someone reliable to manage daily chores like cleaning bathrooms, vacuuming, mopping, dusting, and helping with kitchen preparations. Precision and cleanliness are essential.

In autumn and winter, general maintenance and deep cleaning are the focus.

Taking care of Joey involves twice-daily walks, primarily in the mornings. Volunteers will be trained, and Joey will guide you. They occasionally foster kittens and need help socializing them and providing love and attention. Cat lovers are a must.

They seek open-minded, creative, responsible individuals with initiative and a strong work ethic. Volunteers over 21 are preferred for reliability. They follow a plant-based diet, so a similar lifestyle is a plus.

Accommodation

They offer accommodation in one of the guesthouse rooms, which you may share with a guest, friend, or family member during the summer months. They provide breakfast and one additional meal. They cook plant-based – you are welcome to join for meals.
