Alwar, located in Northern Rajasthan, is a city rich in history, culture, and natural beauty. The best time to visit Alwar is from October to March when the weather is pleasant and suitable for sightseeing.

Getting there is convenient as Alwar is well-connected by road and rail, being about 150 km from Jaipur and 160 km from Delhi, with regular trains and buses available from both cities.

For local transport, auto-rickshaws and taxis are the most convenient modes within the city. Renting a car is also an option for a more comfortable travel experience.

Major attractions include Bala Quila (Alwar Fort), offering panoramic views of the city, and Sariska Tiger Reserve, a wildlife sanctuary known for its Bengal tigers and other wildlife. Siliserh Lake is a picturesque spot ideal for boating and picnics, while the City Palace and Moosi Maharani ki Chhatri showcase stunning architecture and royal artifacts.

When it comes to local cuisine, try Rajasthani dishes like Dal Baati Churma, Ghewar, and Rajasthani Thali at local restaurants and eateries.

For shopping, Alwar is known for its handicrafts, jewelry, and traditional Rajasthani textiles, with local bazaars offering a variety of souvenirs. Respecting local customs and traditions is important, so dress modestly, especially when visiting religious sites.

Alwar is generally safe for tourists, but it’s advisable to stay cautious of your surroundings and belongings and avoid traveling alone at night. Carry basic medications and stay hydrated, drink bottled water, and eat at reputable places to avoid foodborne illnesses.
