You are currently viewing How To Succeed: You Need The Best Workaway Profile Examples

In this article, there are three Workaway profile examples to guide your own profile creation.

With these examples, I wish to help inspire individuals to make their best possible profile.

To step outside of yourself to analyze who you are and what you want to be can be tough.

It gets worse when you then have to communicate that in words on an online profile, especially if it is your first time making one.

Making A Profile

Take a writer for example. They are experts in using the written language; their job is to communicate with words.

This does not mean it will be easy for them to make a good profile because they still need to think about who they are.

All this to say, if you are having trouble making your Workaway profile, do not feel bad if you are stuck.

Even people who communicate for a living can find it difficult!

For some, the art of communication can come easily.

Many people find it easy to strike up a conversation with strangers or speak in front of hundreds of people.

It goes both ways though.

Finding individuals that are shy or reserved are just as common.

Some might prefer to spend time alone or communicate more discretely.

Whether someone is an extrovert or introvert, or somewhere in between, most people are united in the fact that it can be challenging to describe yourself adequately.

A good Workaway profile should indicate to the host whether the volunteer would be a good fit for their specific circumstances.

The importance of describing yourself clearly and accurately cannot be understated.

First impressions are huge! A profile is setting the first impression that the host gets of a volunteer.

If you are interested in becoming a travel volunteer through Workaway, sign up here.

No matter where your Workaway experiences take you, protection is a must when traveling!

Having a back up plan is crucial just in case something goes wrong.

I advise getting travel insurance when planning your trip.

I use SafetyWing Insurance since they are amazing & reliable with wide coverage plans.

Description:

Ciao! I am Luca from beautiful northern Italy.

I have just graduated from high school and decided to do a gap year before I start university.

I love languages and plan to study linguistics.

Though I have only traveled in Italy, my dream has been to visit central America.

Spanish was one of my best subjects in school, so I would love to spend time practicing it and experiencing the vibrant cultures that go along with it.

Some of my favourite things to do revolve around music, reading, art, and gardening.

I would love to experience music and art festivals!

I can not wait to try local foods, especially since they will be so different from what I am used to in Italy.

What skills do you have?

My skills are mainly based around language.

Through my school and volunteer opportunities, I have had experience teaching language classes as well as one on one tutoring.

Skills that I have learned outside of school are from working in the tourist industry and helping my mother with her garden.

My father does guided tours in our area and during my summers I would often help him.

This actually helped me to learn Spanish and English so much, along with little bits of other languages.

Interacting with people from all over the world gave me confidence in my own language abilities and made me realize how much I want to go see other places.

My family loves to have vegetables that we grow ourselves. My mother’s garden is her passion product.

Truthfully, I did not think I would like gardening at first when she asked me to join her.

Surprisingly enough, it grew on me (see what I did there).

I now appreciate our homegrown vegetables so much more!

Though I am still learning, I could lend a hand if you need help in your own garden.

Languages spoken: Italian, English, Spanish

Are you a smoker? Yes

Do you have a car license? Yes

Are you allergic to anything? Strawberries and cats

Do you have special dietary requirements? Vegetarian

What else…

I must admit, I am not the best cook in the world, but I do enjoy it.

If you are interested in learning about Italian food, I can teach you some of the local dishes that I had growing up.

Though I might not have a ton of experience to offer, what I do have is a willingness to try new things.

I want to learn new ideas and have fun adventures!

Cultural exchange is what this gap year is all about for me.

Description:

Hi there, my name is Tabitha. I am a Moroccan-American that grew up in the ‘windy city’, Chicago!

My passions are centered on the arts.

I love everything that involves music and dancing, in fact I now teach both for a job.

I have always dreamed of spending a summer in northern Europe because I really want to experience the outdoors.

Workaway seems like a great way to travel slowly through the Nordic region, I absolutely can not wait!

I will be taking a leave of absence from my job in March 2023 to start traveling through this area.

I should be returning to Chicago in October 2023.

My close friend from school is from Norway, and since I went to visit her, I have been wanting to go back.

Growing up in Chicago, I never got to be in nature really, maybe just on vacations.

I had no idea what I was missing out on until I went to Norway and saw how beautiful it is!

What skills do you have?

A lot of skills have to do with the profession I currently have in the performing arts.

I am not sure if they will come in handy while traveling but who knows right?

I play a variety of musical instruments, sing, and dance, so if you are interested in any of these I can help you learn!

Right after leaving university, I worked as an arts coordinator for an elderly home so I have a lot of experience in elderly care.

In the past, I have also volunteered with a non-profit that helps refugees.

I can help with language practice if you are interested in learning English, French or Arabic.

I am fluent in all three. I am trying to learn Spanish currently.

I come from a large family. I am the oldest and I have 4 brothers and sisters!

I have done a lot of babysitting too.

Languages spoken: English, French, Arabic

Are you a smoker? No

Do you have a car license? No

Are you allergic to anything? Peanuts

Do you have special dietary requirements? No

What else…

I do not have experience in outside work, but I would love to try it.

I have loved living in a big city and having opportunities to pursue the arts.

It does mean that I have missed being in the outdoors though.

I am looking forward to having different Workaway experiences and connecting with other Workawayers throughout my journey.

One last thing, I also make excellent Moroccan food and I am totally willing to share it with you.
